“After watching Hugo’s performance in theaters, I invited him to participate in my project. Hugo was photographed amidst debris and construction equipment in what has now become Estudio NU, a space for artists to express themselves, transform ideas and break concepts and prejudices. For his project, Chris photographs men in actions pertaining to their real lives, their work, or an activity they might be currently performing. In my case, I had been renovating this old apartment into my future studio, so we took this chance to shoot using the “construction work” theme. The colorful edit and the cellophane heads are his trademark, and here they are, boosting the flare from that surprisingly scorching winter sun.
“[…] The end result of every construction work, the arduous process of destruction and rebuilding, is the reward that comes in the beauty of a new image, a new reality built by and for ourselves.” — Chris, The Red
What do you think of these images? I’m fond of how different they look from the previous shoots, even though they were made in the same place as shoots 22 and 23.
And a quick word between us: this shoot was first published on my page on Patreon, where I also publish extras and outtakes of every new photoshoot. I count exclusively on your collaboration to continue making this Project, and I refrain from working to dedicate myself to making nude art full-time. If you think it is worth it, you can contribute $1 per new photoshoot to get access to all of this extra material and to several ways you and I can interact and collaborate in making this work. Finally, If you haven’t seen them yet, you can find the previous 23 NUDE Shoots here.
